The Big Green (Social Action) Hub is a Community Interest Company dedicated to empowering residents, celebrating cultural diversity, and creating lasting positive change in Wembley and across Communities.
Our Mission
Home to one of London’s most diverse communities, Brent’s strength lies in its people. We champion our neighbourhood's rich multicultural heritage, creating vibrant spaces where different generations and cultures connect, celebrate, and belong.
Facing a 32% poverty rate and higher-than-average unemployment across Brent, our community needs practical, local action. We tackle these challenges head-on through accredited horticulture training, job-readiness programmes, and business mentoring partnerships. By offering collaborative spaces and practical skills, we empower residents and support grassroots enterprise from the ground up.
Our Core Activities
We deliver comprehensive programmes across six key areas to create meaningful impact in our community.
Community Hub
A vibrant, inclusive gathering place for residents of Brent and surrounding areas.
Our community hub serves as a safe and welcoming space for people to connect, interact, and build relationships. We foster a sense of belonging, social cohesion, and community pride through cultural celebrations, networking events, and volunteering opportunities that connect residents with friendship, support and volunteering.
Educational Workshops & Skills
Empowering individuals through knowledge and professional development.
We offer a wide range of workshops covering digital and AI skills, financial management, and creative arts. Our programmes support local businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs with mentorship and income opportunities, contributing to the economic vitality and sustainability of Brent.
Health & Wellbeing
Promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing health inequalities.
We organise fitness classes, nutrition workshops, mental health support groups, and preventive health screenings working with local health partners. These initiatives improve physical and mental well-being across our community, addressing health disparities and fostering a culture of wellness.
Youth Engagement
Supporting positive development and social responsibility in young people.
Through mentoring schemes, leadership training, and creative outlets, we help young people build confidence, acquire new skills, and develop a strong sense of social responsibility and community engagement.
Environmental Sustainability
Raising awareness and encouraging sustainable practices.
Our environmental projects include community gardens, recycling schemes, and eco-friendly workshops. We raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage community members to take an active role in preserving and enhancing the natural environment.
Partnerships
Strong partnerships drive our grassroots impact. We work closely with Brent Council, Community Safety Teams, neighbourhood police drop-ins, healthcare champions like Brent Health Matters, and local schools to deliver vital support directly from the Pavilion. By teaming up with Wembley Park developers, Parkrun, and local voluntary groups, we unite civic, safety, health, and corporate resources to build a connected, resilient community.

Friends of TBGH
Contribute to our 'keep the lights on' fund by becoming a regular supporter. A small monthly contribution helps cover core utilities and insurance.
Corporate Sponsorship
Local businesses can sponsor tangible assets (such as kitchen equipment or seating) in exchange for plaque recognition and CSR reporting materials.
Donate & Volunteer
We welcome hands-on help for ground clearance, gardening, and painting, as well as donations of tools, furniture, and kitchen supplies.
